Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Art Psychotherapist to join us in a new role working across Community Services and the Complex Treatment Service for Military Veterans (CTS). The successful applicant will join two dynamic and growing teams the Arts Psychotherapies Service at BSMHFT and the CTS, working with veterans in a regional role.

The CTS is a very friendly team who are committed to support the needs of veterans and their families. The service offers assessment and treatment to veterans presenting with military attributable complex mental health issues, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety disorders, substance misuse and/or anger issues. The successful applicant will establish art psychotherapy as a new part of the CTS offer.

Main duties of the job

The Community Art Psychotherapy team work within the five community Hubs across BSMHFT. This post is located in the South Hub, made up of three separately located CMHTs. The successful applicant will work from one of the CMHT sites in the South area. The community art psychotherapy team are part of the wider Arts Psychotherapies Service, a friendly, well-established team of therapists.

This role provides a new and exciting opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the development of both services both at a clinical and operational level. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to continue to develop their clinical skills, providing specialist and expert assessments, formulations and evidence-based treatment. They will supervise other therapists and trainees as appropriate.
