Trauma & Orthopaedic Outpatient Manager

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the overall clinical and operational day to day delivery, of clinical standards of care and the leadership and management of the Orthopaedic Outpatients', Fracture Clinics & Plaster Room workforce.

The post holder will work across both RBH & BGH ELHT sites ensuring systems are in place to ensure staff are supported and supervised appropriately.

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to ensure the delivery of safe, personal and effective care with excellent outcomes and positive experiences for all service users and their significant others.

The successful applicant with support the Matron, Directorate manager and Clinical teams to deliver on key performance indicators for waiting times, supporting new ways of working and delivery of outpatient services.

You will be required to make informed decisions within the scope of professional practice, involving staff, patient's and the public to ensure agreed standards are met.

The successful candidate will work to agreed objectives and act on own initiatives, working within broad professional policies, with responsibility for policy and service development of urology outpatients across all ELHT sites.

Provide assurance to the Matron of adherence to agreed standards and policies.

Main duties of the job

Ensure a robust professional approach to service development and improvement. Ensures that any subsequent changes to structures and roles are underpinned by appropriate support and on-going professional development.

Develop and maintain communication with multidisciplinary team's on complex matters, contribute to improving quality and ensure the delivery of high quality of care, promote equality and value diversity.

Test and review new concepts, models, and methods of practice for new products and equipment, working closely with company representatives.

Work clinically in the outpatient clinic as required, ensuring clinical practice is kept updated.

Organises and deploys staff according to competence, and service need.

Works closely with the directorate manager, Matron & Clinical Director in demand and capacity planning. This will involve long term planning in addition to planning capacity to meet the short-term requirements of the service.

Support the directorate manager / deputy in developing the business planning requirements of the outpatient service.

Support and challenge team members as appropriate.

Addresses' complaints by patients, members of the public and staff in accordance with Trust value's

Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitor's .
