Job summary

The ED team at Royal Blackburn are looking to recruit Band 5 Paediatric staff nurses to join our busy and ever expanding team.

We are a very busy department, covering a very diverse population, and we are also a major trauma unit.

We are looking for self-motivated nurses to help take the department forward - you must be committed, flexible and approachable

Main duties of the job

We have a team of ENP's, ACP's, and Practice Educators , supported by a diverse and innovative senior nursing team.

We value all the different experiences and qualities people can bring to our department.

About us

Our Emergency Department at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital provides care for both adults and children who attend with serious illness or injury. Due to our large catchment area, we currently provide for approximately 154,000 attendees per year.The department has an 8 bedded resuscitation and 43 major cubicles.

The department is classified as a trauma unit and we have a purpose built helipad onsite that will bring our most serious patients to the department via North West Air Ambulance.

We have a new, state of the art staff facility for staff changing with access to a shower as well as a new staff room, education room and wellbeing retreat for all staff.

We also have 2 Urgent Care Centres that are part of the emergency department and 2 Minor Injuries Units which are located at Accrington Victoria Hospital and Rossendale Health Centre.
