Job summary
The core role is to co-ordinate an efficient patient services team to maintain a clean, safe working environment, providing assurance that national, local standards and accreditation are in place and maintained within East Lancashire Hospitals.
On a day to day basis the Deputy Patient Services Manager will plan, organise and control the busy transformed service, ensuring the teams deliver a successful and efficient service whilst working close with the Patient Services Manager.
Further developing the service in line with the National Cleaning Standards and embedding new processes.
Manage the team's operational support including developing and managing the team's progress and identifying and reporting risk.
Input into the Facilities operational plans to project the Trusts future patient services requirements and the fulfillment of that requirement
Maintain productive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including Senior Managers, HR Business Partners, Divisional Accountant, Business Managers across the Trust, and peers within other NHS Trusts and private contractors.

Your duties will include deputizing for the Patient Services Manager with Service delivery on both on and off-siteThis role will be responsible for managing the department on a day to day basis on all Operation aspect for the service including staff management.

The post holder will need to be flexible with workload depending on the Patient services Teams priorities, will have the ability to time manage their own priorities and those of the department. Attend key meetings as identified through the Estates &Facilities Management Team. To be responsible for the production of key reports to senior managers within Estates & Facilities. This will include the collation and analysis of complex and often contentious data.
The post holder would need to be familiar with Trust systems including local Performance Cards, to extrapolate and analyse complex data into a format that can be relayed back to operational management. For example, drilling down into datix to review trends and data to find route cause or evaluating scorecard data, developing the data we may need to collect and utilizing Viso to review the picture of the data and help develop SOPs and service changes. To aid in the production of documents such as business cases, service level agreements and the integrated business plans, via option appraisal, scenario planning or problem solving.
The successful applicant will have previous management experience, excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work with Managers across E&F services.
