The Intermediate Care Allocation Team (ICAT) is an integrated team of health and social care professionals providing a single point of access for a range of community intermediate care services across Pennine Lancashire (East Lancs with Blackburn & Darwen) from both hospital and community settings. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We are a rapid response service that has grown over the years and now forms the basis for a care co-ordination hub for urgent 2-hour community responses across Pennine Lancashire. We also operate a virtual ward service to prevent readmissions to hospital and support complex discharges for Pennine Lancashire residents.
The post holder will work in partnership with the ICAT Manager and alongside the operational manager as a lead supervisor, undertaking the day to day operational role as the ICAT Rota Co-Ordinator ensuring adequate 24/7 cover.
Supporting administrative management of the service by leading by example and promoting a clear patient focussed and high performing culture.
Main duties of the job
Manage the day-to-day running of frontline services, co-ordinating the frontline to ensure appropriate care is delivered to patients referred into the service.
To be able to work on your own initiative, dealing with competing demands, demonstrating resilience, experiencing frequent interruptions and prioritising your own workload.
Support the ICAT Manager with projects and improvement work.
Contribute to governance processes, ensuring systems are established to support the maintenance of high standards of governance, e.g., performing appropriate audits and subsequent reporting of results.
Ensure that service objectives are clearly identified and communicated to all staff with regards to providing services in line with the ELHT objectives and statutory responsibilities.
Provide leadership by example to all staff within area of responsibility, always demonstrating a professional approach.
Be proficient with the E-Roster system; roster planning, shift authorisations and lock down of shifts for payroll. Demonstrate an understanding of budget constraints awareness and appropriate use of bank shifts.
Using negotiating and motivating skills to influence and inspire others involved in the provision of health care.
Manage designated staff to ensure that they work effectively & efficiently in accordance with their agreed Job Descriptions. This will involve delegating tasks to ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard, with a high degree of accuracy.
About us
The post holder will assist the ICAT Manager & ICAT Lead with the induction of new staff, training and providing education packages. The post holder will be expected to deliver training to all staff within the team and ensure that mandatory training has been completed.
The post holder will be a strong advocate for the service, with a keen interest in developing the service working across a plethora of systems and fostering partnerships responsible for a wide range of clerical services, undertaking management tasks, supervising the staff
