An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Sister to work with the East Lancashire District Nursing Team.
A temporary Band 6 position in the District Nursing Service is available for an enthusiastic and dedicated registered nurse with substantial previous experience in the District Nursing Service. For the successful candidate this is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment as a Team Sister developing high level skills in patient assessment and care and contributing to leadership within the team.
Ability to work contracted hours rotationally across day and night shifts, as reasonably required by the needs of the service. This a 7-day service, including weekends and Bank Holidays
Main duties of the job
Assists the Clinical Team Leader in the co-ordination and delivery of care in line with District Nursing Strategy nationally and locally.
- Assessment of new and complex patients
- Delivery of comprehensive Senior Nurse Reviews of patients in their own homes and other community care settings
- Working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
- Supporting students and new staff in learning and development in the service
- Development of the team through leadership and role modelling
- Management of staffing rotas and allocation of clinical work
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with all clinical staff, patients and families
- Working in the District Nursing Hub to provide weekend, evening, and bank holiday cover (on a rota basis)
- You will have the ability to work contracted hours rotationally across day and night shifts, as reasonably required by the needs of the service
The post holder must demonstrate professional leadership and be passionate about patient care. They will need to be able to problem solve and adapt to challenging situations, manage resources efficiently and ensure the delivery of safe, personal and effective patient care. We are looking for a nurse with a commitment to quality care and the ability to positively challenge to ensure patient and staff safety.
