We are currently recruiting for band6radiographers to join MRI within ourCross-SectionalImaging team at EastLancsNHS Hospitals Trust. The successful applicants will have excellent Image quality and patient care high on their agenda.Theywill be working with a highly skilled team of radiographers, radiologists and radiology assistants, who provide a patient-focused MRIservice.

Theseposts could befull time posts,or additionallywe are happy to hear from applicants requiring part time or flexible working.

The department is set over 2 sites, Blackburn Royal and Burnley General and currently consists of5CT Scannersand 5 MRI scanners.

We are also awaiting delivery (July 2022) of a 1.5T Philips Ingenia Evolution that will be sited on Rossendale, Clitheroe and Blackburn mobile pads. This service will run from 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.

We are an innovative department constantly looking at ways to optimise patient care by offering role development and job progression for our team. In Radiology we have Consultant Radiographers, a large reporting radiographer team including CT Head reporting and MR MSK reporting.

Band 6 posts require proven experience of MRI and/or CT procedures and a high level of MRI and/or CT scanning knowledge.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographer to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality and patient care high on their agenda. Candidates should have a flexible approach to their working hours as this contract will be flexible across 7 day working.

About us

This is a very exciting time to join the cross sectional imaging team at ELHT as we have a new dedicated MRI unit based at Burnley hospital that holds two new state of the art Canon Vantage Orian 1.5T wide bore MRI scanners with an adjoined MRI control room. We have recently had installation of an additional CT scanner that supports dedicated Emergency work within the department.

The post holder will be expected to rotate across all the MRI and/or CT departments to support service and professional development. This is a forward thinking Radiology department that supports Radiographer advanced practice, we have 2 CT Head Reporting Radiographers, 1 MRI Reporting Radiographer and trained CT Colonography Radiographers.

You should have evidence of current ongoing CPD activities incorporating current advances in both CT and/or MRI.

You will have demonstrated the skills necessary to work as part of a small multidisciplinary team and have the ability to take the lead in the absence of Senior Colleagues.

Essential

  • Radiography Degree/ Diploma of the college of Radiographers
  • Full HCPC Registration

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of an extensive range of CT and/or MRI procedures.

Desirable

  • Experience of performing IV Injections/cannulations

Work Skills

Essential

  • Essential to complete formal qualification in I.V. Injections
  • Able to work within and supervise a small team.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Up to date knowledge of current issues/new techniques/developments in CT/MRI
  • Completion of In-House CT and/or MRI Training programme
