Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Lead Digital Midwife with the maternity service digital requirements, the ongoing utilisation of the maternity electronic patient record system as well as data quality audits and the collection and analysis of data from the BadgerNet system.

They will provide digital and clinical education support with the ability to inspire, motivate and empower others.

This is a supportive role within the organisation with the assigned specialist and professional leadership responsibility sitting with the Lead Digital Midwife who will act as the midwifery digital specialist when representing internal and external meetings on behalf of ELHT. The Deputy Digital Midwife will provide support in these meetings with the Lead Digital Midwife and following development, attend in their absence if required.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be a clinical midwife with knowledge and understanding of the electronic patient record system (BadgerNet). They will offer support within the clinical setting daily, providing education, analysing and troubleshooting problems and escalate this to the Lead Digital Midwife or IT service desk.
  • They will support the clinical maternity workforce with utilisation of the electronic record system. They will plan, organise and provide ongoing support with system upgrades
  • They will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate clinical record capture ensuring safe clinical information is available. Working with clinicians ensuring they are trained and competent.
  • They will plan, organise and facilitate training for new starters to the Trust, including resources. They will plan, organise and facilitate training updates for existing staff. This training may be individual or group training and include different members of the MDT
  • Develop, plan, prepare and disseminate a regular Digital Midwifery Newsletter
  • Develop and maintain visual information boards within the clinical area to support the digital systems.
  • They will provide updates and evaluations of the system to the Lead Digital Midwife
  • They will support planning, organising and implementing the testing of each new release and provide feedback to staff of relevant changes to the system.

Within maternity services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Midwifery deputy Digital Midwife .This post is predominantly part tome covering some days 7.5 hours Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm although the post may includes working occasional weekend and bank holiday working if required for training needs
