Job summary
The Head of HR provides a strategic workforce and OD focus and direction for the Trust by working closely with the People & Culture senior leadership team, Divisional Senior Management teams and other senior stakeholders and providing leadership to the HR teams to support the forward planning, engagement and performance of our number one asset - our people.
In this role, you will influence and drive business objectives and support the delivery of the Trust People Strategy. You will lead on designated Trust-wide workforce projects, as a member of the Senior People & Culture Management Team to deliver the People & Culture contribution to the quality improvement agenda.
You will provide senior leadership to the HR Business Partnering and Operations Team and Workforce Information Systems Team, being responsible for the development of the service, ensuring that members of the team have the capacity and confidence to provide high quality advice on a wide range of subject matter.
Main duties of the job
- To lead the Senior HR Business Partnering and Operations Team to deliver professional HR and people leadership to the Divisions, ensuring the highest standards of employee engagement along with optimal workforce effectiveness
- To provide strategic and Trust-wide delivery of the People Strategy within the Divisions through the Senior HR Business Partners
- Work closely with senior colleagues across People & Culture and the wider system to deliver on HR & OD priorities
- To lead, develop and manage the operational HR teams, supported by the Senior HR Business Partners to provide an expert, professional and high quality operational HR service providing advice on a full range of workforce matters
- To lead the development of Trust HR policies to support delivery of the Trust's People Strategy and in particular support the delivery of the Trust Behaviour Framework, Culture and Leadership Programme
- To support the Deputy Director of People & Culture in maintaining and building on excellent partnership working with trade union colleagues across the organisation through effective Trust wide partnership arrangements and the promotion of partnership working

- Masters Degree in relevant subject or Post Graduate membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or relevant experience

- Significant operational HR experience with exposure to working as a Business Partner; experience of devising and implementing HR plans and strategy

- Experience and demonstrable delivery of developing strategic plans and focussed solutions to support organisational priorities
