The post provides an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of CAST, which is responsible for delivering a range of training programmes to support and develop our staff's career's within the NHS.
The post offers interesting and varied work requiring experience of organisation and administrative expertise, problem solving and forward planning. You will be expected to facilitate work experience programmes, working in partnership with our local colleges, 6th Forms and schools and also assist the team to ensure the smooth running of a range of programmes, therefore you will need to demonstrate an organised and systematic approach as you will be receiving information from multiple sources on a daily basis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be placed within the CAS Team and will have knowledge and skills to work at a high level of competences within agreed protocols. The post holder will work collaboratively with different teams within the international recruitment project to plan and implement the international nurse work placement with us. The Work Experience Co-ordinator will support the CAS Team in team activities.

MAIN DUTIES
- Work in partnership with CAST, HR, recruitment, occupational health, the pastoral care team and clinical areas to coordinate plan, develop, monitor and evaluate multiple complex work regarding the International nurses (INs) work placement(s).
- To develop and maintain working partnerships with clinical areas sharing ideas and experiences by planning and delivering presentations regarding working experience.
- Liaise with HR, occupational health, recruitment, clinical areas, and ward managers to make relevant adjustments to ensure all relevant learners receive appropriate support, experience and knowledge for assimilation into clinical areas to support their new career within the NHS.
- Be required to develop a good awareness of a wide range NMC OSCE curriculum and how these link to career pathways within ELHT and act as a link for information about the OSCE prep programme for clinical areas and ward managers.
- Be responsible for co-ordinating agreed placements for all work International Nurses across ELHT in clinical areas, to aid the transition between OSCE prep training and commencing in their new post.
- To ensure all students are best prepared for placements, this will include developing virtual resources, SharePoint maintenance, facilitating the delivery of training programmes, e.g., workshops, group work, classroom sessions and practical activities.
- To work closely with managers to help prepare for learners into the clinical area, this could include helping to plan, a welcome pack for the International Nurses, a mentor, date for local induction, contact details, organising rota duties, allocation onto the preceptorship programme.
- To support and guide learners and their placement supervisors.
- Ensure quality learning opportunities are available, this will include organising and delivering taught sessions and presentations with teams from within ELHT and externally.
- To evaluate all taught sessions and activities.
- The post holder will be a point of contact for International nurses during the NMC OSCE training period until commenced onto work placement area and will visit, monitor nurses and liaise with pastoral support to International Nurses, in the work area, on a regular basis.
- Monitor International nurses on a regular basis, update records upon completion of all appropriate training programmes and compliance with preceptorship on a complex database. Liaise with the NMC educators, ward managers, pastoral lead and preceptorship lead, to solve any issues that may arise.
- To accurately type correspondence and reports, summaries and other documents.
- To organise, plan and deliver feedback sessions at the end of NMC OSCE training to explore what learning has occurred during placement and identify any areas of good practice and areas for improvement and feedback to the IN Clinical Educators.
- Facilitate and attend internal and external meeting/ events with our agreed partners. Attend the Northwest International Community of Practice to forge collaborations across the ICS and keep up to date with NMC OSCE updates.
- Maintain stock control of the NMC OSCE Prep stock levels and order to support future training.
- Ensure International Nurses are made aware of potential job opportunities career pathways within ELHT. Organise presentation ceremonies for those who have completed their Organise presentation ceremonies for International Nurses who have successfully completed and passed their NMC OSCE
- The post holder will be responsible for making sure any problems or issues during the NMC OSCE training course, such as sickness absence are highlighted to clinical educators or appropriate person in a timely manner
