Job summary

We are seeking to appoint an exceptionally motivated Registered Nurse to join our highly skilled and dynamic team.

Hysteroscopy service is well establish and recognized for high quality, evidence based care and treatment.

You will be within the team in a dedicated department collocated with other Gynaecology services to ensure the provision of integrated pathways to meet the need of women accessing our service

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. We are also seeking candidates with a flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment.

Clinical research, quality improvement and service development are actively encouraged.

* This is a training post which will commence as a band 6 until completion of training and supervisory process*

Main duties of the job

To undertake a Specialist Lead role within the hysteroscopy, providing pro active leadership and quality Service and guidance.

undertake the role of Nurse hysteroscopy within the Gynaecology Unit working within agreed protocols.

Provide and promote the highest possible standard of care based on professionally determined standards.

Job responsibilities

  1. Facilitate the continuity of the patients journey, ensuring the patients passes through the investigation/management process with minimal delay and within a safe environment.
  2. Provide care in the clinical area as an effective member of the clinical team.
  3. Accountable for own professional actions including the reporting of findings / histology.
  4. Responsible for monitoring and actioning any concerns around clinic activity.
  5. Responsible for decision on further management of patients, organising and assessing investigation results.
  6. Explain all investigation results to patients, arranging further appointments and or discharge.
  7. Provision of emotional support when imparting bad news
  8. Maintain the delivery of high quality research based nursing care.
  9. Ensure awareness of developments within the specialty and in conjunction with current developments.

PROFESSIONAL

  1. Ensure the assessment, development; implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care are met in accordance with the statutory requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the policies of the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
  2. Participate in the formulation of clinical policies, guidelines, protocols and procedures for the care of women.
  3. Participate in the setting, monitoring and auditing of quality assurance standards.
  4. Participate in nursing, multi-professional research and audit to improve care and promote clinical effectiveness.
  5. Identify the need for change and participate with the planning, implementation and evaluation to meet the future needs of the service.
  6. Ensure the standards of record keeping are in accordance with agreed guidelines and protocols to maintain the safety and confidentiality of such records.
