Job summary

We are continuing to grow and develop our team of Physician Associates at ELHT and are looking to recruit an experienced PA to support Acute Medicine. You will work under the direction of a supervising consultant and support other members of the clinical team to provide high quality care to patients. You will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team and be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously to provide evidence-based interventions to patients, demonstrating expert clinical skills and knowledge. You will be expected to liaise with other professionals and specialties and complete necessary documentation relating to your patients. You will perform delegated duties with a high degree of clinical skill and knowledge, working within clinical environments. You will become involved in all activities of the Directorate, including clinical governance, quality improvement projects, research and teaching. In return we will support you to further develop skills whilst working in an exciting and dynamic environment.

We may consider applications from exceptional candidates who have completed their PA training programme and who wish to undertake their preceptorship year.

  • Minimum postgraduate diploma in Physician Associate Studies
  • Registered on the Faculty of PA Managed Voluntary Body
  • Current Valid certificate of re-certification of the National Certifying Examinations for PAs
  • Passed and completed 1 yr post grad preceptorship
  • Membership of Faculty of PAs
  • Experience working as a PA in an acute hospital or community setting

Desirable

  • Life support course certification eg. ILS, LS or PALS
