Job summary
This Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice (RNDA) role enables existing Health Care Support Workers & new recruits to the trust to achieve a registered nurse qualification.
The RNDA will be employed by a base placement for the equivalent of 2 days per week. They will attend university for the equivalent of 1 day per week & will be placed within a range of clinical placements across the trust for the equivalent of 2 days per week.
RNDA's are required to experience care across the 4 fields of nursing & will complete clinical placements within the trust & across organisational boundaries.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence
Develop by the end of the RNDA Programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of their role as a registered Nurse.
Be proactive in seeking opportunities to develop own knowledge and skills, achieving clinical competencies and Nursing Degree / Level 6 qualification within agreed timeframes and seek support / guidance in timely manner if any difficulties are encountered
Act as an excellent role model by upholding and implementing good practice in the workplace. Recognising and either directly challenging or seeks support to challenge any poor practice observed
Develop understanding of all elements of the nursing process and be able to assist the registered nurse in the on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care
Support individuals with all aspects of care including daily living, providing person-centred care and promoting health and independence through awareness raising and care navigation to other professionals as appropriate

- Minimum of 12 months in an Assistant Practitioner role or Nurse Associate Role
- Maths and English at GCSE Grade C / 4 or Equivalent
- Access to transport for clinical placements across all Trust Sites
- Able to work full range of shifts according to organisational need including weekends and Nights
- Basic IT / Computer/ Key Board skills
- Completed Medicine Management Module
