Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our enthusiastic and committed community midwifery team primarily based in Buckingham but covering a wide range of areas across the county. You will be leading a team who are committed to the on-going promotion of women-centred care. You will also be joining an organisation that offers excellent career development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Band 7 Team Leader for Community Midwives

As a team leader you will co-ordinate the team and use your knowledge and experience to support the midwives in the team. You will case load your patients, providing continuity and support.

Understanding of learning and teaching styles and their application
Ability to act as a mentor for Midwives, students and MCAs, skilled in teaching trained and untrained staff, carers and patients
Excellent communication skills with all members of the team, patients and relatives
Good verbal and written English which can be evidenced at interview or IELTs level 7 (in all elements) or above
Demonstrates effective management in the clinical environment
Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs
Good previous attendance record

Desirable

Evidence of managerial development
IT literate on Microsoft Office and Excel

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
