Job summary
We are in the picturesque town of Amersham, with services supporting Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals.
This is a great opportunity for a dynamic nurse with dermatology experience - the successful candidate will support in the daily management of the service and support the nurse manager in the delivery of safe and effective care.
We pride ourself on developing our nurses and offer an extensive nurse-led service, including surgery, biologics, acne and complex wound care clinics, and phototherapy, among others.
While non-medical prescribing and history taking are desirable, we will support the successful candidate in completing these qualifications.

Main duties of the job
The post holder should:
- Be a registered nurse with experience in Dermatology, who possesses the specialist skills and qualifications to assess and treat patients within their specific remit.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high quality evidence based patient care is provided.
- Lead the development of a clinical service within dermatological specialist-nursing field and provide specialist education and training to others relating to this service.
Be the Deputy Dermatology Nursing Manager for the entire Dermatology Service. Work closely with the Dermatology Nursing Manager, assisting with the development of the service. Attend Trust meetings in the absence of the Manager as required.
Lead the Dermatology Nurse-Led Clinics service; developing the services, initiate changes and audit the services effectiveness.
Have qualifications in Advanced History Taking and Non-Medical Prescribing or be willing to undertake and successfully complete this educational path.
Receive direct referrals, assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients within remit of the role and agreed protocols in Nurse-Led specialist treatments, minor surgery and follow-up dermatology clinics.
Provide expert clinical advice to patients to assist with their treatment and discharge plans.
Undertake line management (appraisals, sickness monitoring and development) of junior staff.
Provide education relating to Nurse-Led clinic service to other healthcare providers.
