Job summary
We are looking for an efficient, flexible and organised person to join the Cancer team in Buckinghamshire as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator and Patient Tracker.
The Trust is responsible for tracking hundreds of cancer patient pathways at any time. This requires diligence and patience and good communication skills to expedite diagnostic tests, procedures & admissions, both within the Trust and with other hospitals.
The successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail and good organisation skills. They must be confident in speaking with staff members from a range of multi-disciplinary teams and support the coordination of meetings including live typing of clinical discussions.
NHS experience is desirable, whilst strong IT skills are vital, as well as being able to work both independently and as part of a team.
(Training specific to the post will be organised on appointment).
Main duties of the job
- The co-ordination of nominated MDT(s). This may require being available for an early start or late finish and during lunchtimes.Providing administrative facilitation and support to the MDT's weekly meetings and ensure patients are tracked in a timely fashion, this will include:
- Organising venue and ensuring all technology (visual aids, laptop etc) are prepared and an attendance list is provided.
- Creation and circulation of discussion lists, ensuring all appropriate internal and external reports and letters are included
- To be a core member of MDT's meetings including live typing of action plans and patient outcomes
- Attend weekly meeting with PTL Team leader and Service Manager to escalate any diagnostics tests or appointments.
- Demonstrate flexibility and to deputise for other MDT co-ordinators on a regular basis to cover sick and annual leave and have a good working knowledge across all cancer sites.
