Job summary
Provide the first point of contact for the department, supporting clinicians by providing a comprehensive secretarial support.
Secretarial support to the clinicians within Stroke including the typing for clinical correspondence and the making of TIA appointments.
Main duties of the job
Provide the first point of contact for the department and dealing with queries, as appropriate, or delegating where possible to other staff in the department.Providing management of the local office and ensuring prioritisation of workload to meet deadlines and flow of correspondence, as necessary. This will include ensuring the timely turnaround of outpatient letters, clinic results, and other correspondence, as appropriate.From on-call rota, identifying the need for clinic cancellation, including thepreparation of relevant Clinic Change Forms, in accordance with Trust policy.Booking of TIA / Stroke appointments. Clinic cancellations in accordance with Trust process. Setting up of clinics within careflow.Identifying need for clinic cancellation following request for leave from physicians, and preparation of relevant paperwork; ensuring that all modifications and changes to clinics are in line with 6-week cancellation time frame.Minute taking at departmental meetings.
