The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.

Main duties of the job

  • Formulates and implements processes, procedures and systems for tracking and analysing software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through to retirement/disposal.
  • Account for the IT assets throughout the enterprise utilising tools to manage all assets within the organization and affiliated companies.
  • Manage acquisition of assets from planning through deployment.
  • Report to senior management ITAM/life cycles and resolve conflicts.
  • Verify, enter, and adjust equipment IT asset management data in a variety of forms, schedules and reports.
  • Track entire life-cycle management for each asset to maintain warranty information, refresh date, and end of life data information.
  • Develop written plans, policies, and procedures to document processes to support the asset management lifecycle.
  • Conduct annual inventory audit and develop process and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for the wellbeing and development of a small team undertaking service management across the product line, working in a matrix environment with other managers/team leaders ensuring device availability, asset lifecycle KPIs performance and developing process maturity.
  • Manages and maintains the service compliance of IT asset management systems and processes in line with audit requirements for this product line.
  • Identifies, assesses and communicates and mitigates associated risks to asset management system compliance.
  • Monitoring internal client's feedback and satisfaction ratings (Net Promoter Score)

Education, Qualification & Training

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or business administration or ten years of equivalent experience.
  • One or more security certifications such as Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Systems Manager (CISM) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) a plus Relevant IT Qualification (GCSE, BTEC, A-level)

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation certificate

Functional requirements

  • Able to work flexibly both in terms of hours, location, and role.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Principles.
  • Valid Driving Licence and use of car, willing to travel as requested

Asset & Configuration Management

Essential

  • Previous experience of working on an IT Asset management, Specific experience evaluating, recommending and implementing infrastructure solutions
  • Experience in scoping, planning and managing complex and concurrent technical activities supported by a strong understanding of IT project management; demonstrated ability to manage scope, timeline, and budget; PMP certification a plus.

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS with exposure to Healthcare Computers Systems.
