Job summary

You will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, the ability to work both within a team and independently and the ability to offer a high level of nursing care. Training and clinical supervision opportunities are available to the successful candidate.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  1. Patient Care
  2. Communicate with patients and their visitors in order to promote their comfort and well-being
  3. Communication with other members of the organisation and respond appropriately
  4. Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
  5. Make unoccupied beds and occupied beds.
  6. Assist patients out of bed, helping with dressing and undressing as required
  7. Wash/bathe patients in bed and in the bathroom.
  8. Care of hands and feet of patients in bed.
  9. Observe patients skin and report any red marks or blemishes to nursing staff in charge.
  10. Assist with manual handling and transferring of patients complying with the Trust Moving and Handling policy
  11. Under direction of trained nurse, assist with the treatment/management of patients.
  12. Report Accidents/incidents to nurse in charge and complete appropriate Trust forms.
  13. Chaperone Medical Staff.
  14. Assist with the care of the patients mouth, teeth, nails and hair, washing hair at Nurse in Charge's direction.
