Job summary
To provide administrative and clerical support to the Ward ,carrying out assigned tasks in respect of a comprehensive clerical andcomputer service to the work area. To provide an accurate and efficient data entry service of patient information on a daily basis, and to provide a daily reception service to the Ward area.
Main duties of the job
Act as the focal point of administrative communications for the Ward,taking all telephone enquiries, personal callers/visitors and directing patients where necessary.Register, collate and enter onto the computer system all patient held records, as well as collecting and filing all in-patient books and, when necessary, register new patients using the Medway/Evolve/careflow systems.Enter basic patient data onto the computer, especially admission, transfer and discharge details.Prepare documentation from admission to discharge for use by theteam.Filing of documentation in patients' notes.Ensure that patient notes are filed and return to medical recordsMaintain patient notes on the ward in an organised and methodical manner according to Trust guidelines, including filing of results, printing patient labels.Ensure there is an adequate supply of appropriate patient information leaflets and paperwork required by staff.
Liaise with other departments as required.Check the careflow error folder daily to ensure errors and issues are resolved.
