Job summary

The Post Holder should :

Be a registered nurse with experience of working in the theatre environment and who has the skills and knowledge to adhere to national guidelines relating to safety and environmental requirements.
Ability to be organised and efficient to ensure service demands are met.
Participate in clinical sessions assisting with dermatology surgery and specialist dermatology clinics.

Main duties of the job

Participate in clinical practice shifts in dermatology surgical and outpatients clinics ( minor surgery, MOHS, wound management, leg ulcer management and obtaining biopsies )
Chaperone during procedures or patient assessments
Communicate with patients and relatives concerning assessment's treatment and procedures
Be a patient advocate and ensure best interests are considered
Ensure consent process is adhered to and that the patient has a full understanding of procedure
Adhere to infection control, medicines management and Health & Safety policies
undertake all the necessary mandatory training to ensure required competencies
Once competent to undertake minor surgical procedures
