Job summary
The Post Holder should :
- Be a registered nurse with experience of working in the theatre environment and who has the skills and knowledge to adhere to national guidelines relating to safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to be organised and efficient to ensure service demands are met.
- Participate in clinical sessions assisting with dermatology surgery and specialist dermatology clinics.
Main duties of the job
- Participate in clinical practice shifts in dermatology surgical and outpatients clinics ( minor surgery, MOHS, wound management, leg ulcer management and obtaining biopsies )
- Chaperone during procedures or patient assessments
- Communicate with patients and relatives concerning assessment's treatment and procedures
- Be a patient advocate and ensure best interests are considered
- Ensure consent process is adhered to and that the patient has a full understanding of procedure
- Adhere to infection control, medicines management and Health & Safety policies
- undertake all the necessary mandatory training to ensure required competencies
- Once competent to undertake minor surgical procedures
