Aylesbury based with flexibility to travel across county
The Speech and Language Therapy Service works collaboratively as part of a wider Children and Young People's Service including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Health Visitors, Community Nurses for Children with a Learning Disability, Community Paediatricians and School Nurses.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team of therapists and therapy assistants, delivering high quality packages of care to children on the preschool complex needs caseload across a range of settings in the Buckinghamshire area as well as via teletherapy.
Experience of using Makaton signing would be highly desirable for this post - however, in-house training can be provided with regard to this if required
All staff receive:
- A comprehensive induction supported by the Practice Development Therapist
- Regular clinical supervision, one to one and peer groups
- Access to a variety of CPD sessions on specific clinical areas supported by Clinical Leads
- Clinical and caseload discussions with senior colleagues
- Coaching, mentoring and access to external courses as required
Access to car or ability to travel between county-wide locations is essential. Affordable staff accommodation is available if required.
Main duties of the job
- Provide ongoing independent input to identified groups of children, with support and supervision as needed.
- Carry out routine group and individual interventions following aims given by the supervising therapist
- Follow departmental guidelines/standards to independently support the work of the therapists, Eg supporting the running of training sessions, preparing materials and resources.
- Provide some clinical administrative support to therapist.
