All members of the Digital Leadership team strive towards "Applying the culture, processes, business models & technologies of the internet era to respond to people's raised expectations" [Tom Loosemore's definition of Digital].
This is a new and key role that has direct responsibility for systems managed and 'owned' by the ICT department, but increasingly building relationships across BHT where technology is deployed locally in both Acute and Community settings.
In delivering clinically led solutions we aim to:
- understand the needs of clinicians in order to give them excellent tools that work for them and give them back time to care.
- work with our clinicians to understand patient pathways in our services and design digital solutions to enhance care.
This role will draw together and optimise:
- the configuration upgrade and release cycle of core clinical systems
- a plan for future rationalisation of systems e.g. discover, switch off, sunset, maintain and develop
- the training required to support those systems
- use of medical records in a future digital hospital
And build a community of practice across other technical teams across the Trust who are outside of ICT (e.g. Pathology, Radiology, Cardiology, PACS, Clinical Engineering and Medical Technology etc
Main duties of the job
Key deliverables:
- Ensure that a professional and high-quality service is provided to manage and maintain all Clinical Systems across the Trust and ensure their continual improvement and consolidation.
- Lead the development and implementation of all clinical systems policies and strategy across the Trust through close collaboration with technical teams outside ICT.
- Lead the clinical systems service to provide efficient, integrated and customer-focused services to all staff, delivering excellent customer service.
- Leadership and line management, creating the environment for happy, motivated and highly performing teams.
- Ensure that services provided are and continue to be effective, meet the clinical and business needs of the Trust, and represent best value for money.
- Lead the planning of improvements to ensure systems are reliable and resilient, and that robust arrangements for maintenance are in place and regularly assessed.
- Champion and role model the Trust's values and behaviours and support others in doing so to deliver the Trust Vision and Mission successfully
