Due to expansion of the Surgical Assessment Unit, we are looking for Band 5 nurses.
Come and join our enthusiastic and dynamic nursing team on the Surgical Assessment Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital striving to provide high quality specialist surgical care to our patients.
SAU is a team of registered and unregistered nurses working closely with several Specialist surgical teams to provide acute care to a wide demographic of patients within Buckinghamshire.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated, forward thinking Band 5 Registered Nurse to work on our specialised Unit covering general surgery, gynaecology, urology and plastic surgery. We offer a direct referral process from GP surgeries, providing nurse triage and assessment across all patient pathways.
If you are a newly qualified nurse, you will be supported through the Trusts 2 year preceptorship programme. For experienced nurses, your development will be tailored to your individual needs along with a specifically designed surgical competency passport. Further patient assessment and triage training can be provided along with the option to complete a deteriorating patient course.

Shifts are based on a 24/7 shift rotation of long days and night shifts to meet the needs of the service.
