To succeed you will need to have demonstrable customer focus, experience of leading on complex employee relations including change management, resourcing and workforce planning expertise at a transactional and strategic level. Innovative in your approach, you will understand how HR adds value, will develop effective solutions and fully engage with senior leaders and other stakeholders to support the delivery of our transformation agenda.
Your main base will be in Aylesbury with minimal travel across site. We operate a hybrid model of on site and home working.

Main duties of the job
- As part of the Divisional management team, lead the local implementation of the human resources aspects of the divisional business plan, assisting managers in developing and implementing their service strategy, offering specialist advice and support to identify the workforce implications that flow from the strategy and develop initiatives to implement changes that improve performance.
- To proactively develop and implement an HR service to a designated Division which supports the work of the Trust through establishing, maintaining and improving people management practices and skills within the Trust, and addresses the issues outlined in the Trust and Divisional/Directorate Business Plan and Human Resources Strategy.
- As part of the Divisional workforce planning and business planning process, work with managers to identify changes to the workforce that will achieve future service needs and cost reduction targets, for example, through reduction in agency usage.
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the Trust's HR Strategy to ensure interdependency between the Trust's strategic objectives and the local requirements of the Division. Ensure that the Trust's workforce is used effectively and developed appropriatelyto meet service needs and in support of the Trust's values.

- Degree level education or equivalent.
- Graduate CIPD member; relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
- Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice.
- An understanding of core employment policies and practices to enable the training and coaching of others.

EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Significant generalist HR management experience in a large, complex and unionised organisation.
- Demonstrable experience of independently managing highly complex and sensitive ER cases.
- Demonstrable experience of supporting ER panels, including appeals.
- Experience of HR information systems and reporting, including ESR.
- Experience of acting as a change agent, working proactively to make departmental and organisational change happen.
- Experience of designing, supporting and implementing HR interventions at a strategic level.

- Demonstrable experience of being HR lead on employment tribunal cases.
