Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated registered nurse to join our friendly Urology Investigations Unit (UIU) outpatient team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop their skills and career to become an urology nurse within our outpatient department that specializes in urology diagnostics.

The post holder will be required to deliver high quality care, supporting and assisting the urology team in urological procedures undertaken on the unit.

All training, support and supervision will be given with competencies completed to ensure safe best practise.

Main duties of the job

o To deliver personalised care to the patients and to guide them during their stay on the unit.o To make sure that the patients are prepared for the proposed treatment/investigation.o To deliver diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic care to patients within agreed trust policies/ protocols i.e. running uroflowmetry clinic, assisting the clinicians in flexible cystoscopies / transperineal biopsies etc.o To be responsible for delivering high quality, patient-centered, compassionate care with a focus on promoting health and independence under direct and indirect supervision.o The rightful candidate will promote flexible working, adjusting their practice to the service and patient needs.o The successful applicant will facilitate patients journey in the unit making sure that the care is delivered safely and appropriately.o The rightful candidate will promote flexible working, adjusting their practice to the service and patient needs.o There is a need for close liaison with the staff on the inpatient wards, Day Surgery Unit, Admissions, Outpatients, Theatres, Pharmacy, members of the MDT and Primary Care Team to expedite and facilitate patient-centred care for urology patients.
