Job summary
The Chief Estates and Facilities Officer will hold Board-level responsibility for leading all operational and strategic estates and facilities functions at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. This will involve working in partnership with PFI contractor organisations and with partners externally, including within the county and the Integrated Care System to deliver high-quality integrated clinical services for residents of the county, and a great place to work for colleagues.
The post holder will be a voting member of the Board accountable directly to the Chief Executive.

Main duties of the job
Take managerial, professional and technical responsibility for delivery of high quality and efficient hard and soft FM services to patients, colleagues and the public in accordance with national standards, NHS guidance and strategic and service objectives.
Deliver and continue to evolve the long-term strategic capital development of the Trust-wide estate, across two acute hospitals and multiple community sites around the county, maintaining the strategic vision for the built environment to enable and support delivery of the Trust clinical strategy.
Maintain oversight of national regulations and standards, ensuring Trust-wide compliance with all relevant legislation within the Estates and Facilities portfolio, responding pro-actively to any changes and reporting on national developments to the Board.
Collaborate across the Integrated Care System, other place-based public sector entities and other partners, taking a leading role to deliver the optimum strategic model of estates in conjunction with new care models and Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Oversee the Trust's PFI providers to ensure close management of the contract, and that there is a programme in place for the maintenance and lifecycle refurbishment of facilities in line with PFI agreements and relevant statutory compliance and quality standards; the post holder will act as the Trust representative under the PFI contract.
