Job summary

The Surgical Assessment Unit is looking for a Full time Housekeeper.

We are a 10 bedded unit with a busy Assessment area, caring for approximately 500 patients a month. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join our small, friendly team providing high quality care to a wide range of patients from in and around Buckinghamshire.

Working Monday to Friday you will be involved in ward quality checks, monitoring and maintaining stock levels, ensuring patients nutritional needs are met and ensuring the ward is well maintained.

Main duties of the job

  • Liaise with clinician, Dietetic service, patients and or their relatives ensuring the patient is provided with appropriate nutrition information and menu's.
  • Ensure hydration is appropriate in line with their medical needs ensuring accurate information is communicated with patients and colleagues.
  • Undertake nutrition training to assist with patient feeding.
  • Maintain emergency bedside equipment, ensuring it is topped up and readily available.
  • Ensure correct use of PPE following IPC Guidelines to prevent exposure to infectious diseases and cross contamination.
  • Moving of non-patient equipment, e.g. linen, supplies, waste, deliveries, etc, between departments of the hospital, using the appropriate moving and handling equipment and methods.
