Job summary

This is a really exciting time to join us in Cancer Services at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Based on feedback from the people who work with us and the people we care for, in 2023 we will be launching our new Cancer Strategy. This particular role provides an opportunity to work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment for patients with an oncological or haematological diagnosis.

The SACT Nurse will assess patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients. The post holder will assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway, including administration of SACT. The post holder will assist in maintaining and developing cancer services and contribute to quality improvement within cancer services.

Main duties of the job

This post provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment for patients with a cancer or haematology diagnosis.

We are seeking an experienced nurse with leadership and managerial skills with a passion to specialise in cancer and haematology nursing.

Previous experience in the administration chemotherapy is not essential as training will be given, however experience in the administration of IV therapies, cannulation and venepuncture is essential.

If you are a person with leadership skills, working in acute setting and are keen to specialise in cancer this could be your opportunity to progress.
