Job summary

The Surgical and Critical Care Division is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who wishes to progress and develop their leadership and management skills within a theatre environment.

We are looking for someone who can make a difference to patients and staff, modelling outstanding care every time and able to promote a positive team working ethic. We are looking for someone with who can be an inclusive visible leader within a theatre setting with excellent communication and well-developed influencing and negotiating skills.

The role involves working across 3 hospital sites but will have a nominated base.

Main duties of the job

The main focus of the role is providing high quality, professional leadership to ensure clinical excellence which will promote and improve patient experience.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner
  • Specialist qualification in theatres

Desirable

  • Desirable - educated to Master level or working towards
  • Relevant Degree or recordable qualification

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Has excellent standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage with and successfully convey highly complex information and concepts to audiences at all levels in the organisation
  • Organised and able to prioritise own workload effectively, delivering to deadlines
  • Is conversant with methodologies for improving staff performance
  • Understanding of Information and Clinical Governance / risk management
  • Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to lead, manage and motivate several multidisciplinary teams into achieving a common goal
