Job summary

The post holder is required to have clear communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to this service, which benefits from being part of this Integrated Trust.

Our podiatry service has placement rotations for staff within its own specialist teams, such as Rheumatology, MSK and Diabetes / Wound clinics as well as regular sessions on the nail surgery rota. We meet for monthly staff meetings and clinical reasoning sessions. There will be a small home visiting caseload.

Main duties of the job

You will work in a variety of clinical settings within Buckinghamshire with the aim of delivering excellent care to high need patients in order to maintain their mobility and independence. You must have good general clinical and diagnostic skills as you will be working on your own initiative as well as part of the team. For those new to the NHS, the Trust offers a multi-disciplinary preceptorship scheme.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications


  • Bsc ( Hons) Podiatry with Local Anaesthesia certificate
  • Currently registered by HCPC
  • Member of the Society of Chiropodists , podiatrists



  • Assessment & diagnosis of podiatry patients
  • Competence in nail surgery procedure
  • Experience dealing with patients who have barriers to communication
  • Basic IT skills for Computer entry and e-mail communication
  • Able to treat patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and R/A within a supervised treatment programme



  • Excellent organisational skills to manage a patient case load
  • Articulate and able to communicate clearly verbally and written
  • Flexible approach as changes to timetables can be made at short notice
