Clinical Co-ordinator/ Sister Same Day Emergency Care Unit

Job summary

SDEC is a 24 bay unit and works closely alongside the Emergency Department to provide safe and effective flow through the services we provide.

This is a fast paced & exciting environment to work in and will be a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate if you have a passion for high standards of clinical care and an innovative and progressive attitude this could be the role for you.

We are currently recruiting an experienced senior nurse to lead the clinical care within a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. You will need to promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines. At all times act as a role model and provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinate and manage the SDEC unit to ensure patients are managed quickly, safely and effectively, while meeting NHS standards

Maintain good communications with patients, relatives and other visitors. Respond to patients, relatives and carers concerns as they arise and take remedial action as required

Ensure compliance with all Trust policies local and legal requirements relating to clinical care and Health & Safety.

Ensure a safe environment is maintained for staff, patients and visitors.

Organise, prioritise and manage own workload and supervise others work.

Provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision

Assist the Lead Sister and Matron in leading the nursing team and undertake nursing management roles such as appraisals, development plans and performance monitoring.

Ensure effective communication amongst the clinical team.
