Cancer Pathway Delivery Support Officer - Ipswich

Job summary

We are looking for a resilient, enthusiastic, motivated and proactively driven individual to join our Women & Children's Division as Cancer Pathway Delivery Officer.

You will be part of a busy team and must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to exercise diplomacy and a good telephone manner. Proven team working and organisational skills are essential.

This is full time, fixed term/secondment post until 31/03/2026

Main duties of the job

You will be 'the key link' between these two teams, ensuring patients on a cancer pathway are processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the Best Practice Pathways and the National Cancer Waiting time targets.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting blockages in patient pathways and providing proactive information in anticipation of potential problems, actively escalating as necessary to the appropriate Manager/Clinical lead and closing the loop on next steps.

You will work unsupervised for the majority of the time but will be supported, as necessary, by Women's Services and Cancer Performance Teams. The post holder should have the ability to work in a team and independently.

  • Good working knowledge of 18 week and cancer pathways
  • Ability to use and produce reports from National Cancer Registration Systems (Somerset or Infoflex)
  • Experience of dealing with complex and/or sensitive information and unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Access

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CareFlow or Lorenzo PAS
  • Knowledge of Evolve or Big Hand admin systems
  • Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting
