Senior Physiotherapist - Stroke Unit

Job summary

An exciting job opportunity has arisen, we are looking for someone to work within our stroke team at Colchester stroke unit for 1 year with the possibility of extended the post to 2 years. Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate initiative, strong team working skills and a passion for excellence in stroke patient care to join our stroke therapy team.

We have a highly specialised team that works very closely with the whole stroke MDT, we have a comprehensive MDT training programme. You will be expected to work flexibly across the service and actively participate in 7 day therapy service.

This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate and build on your existing neuro skills whilst gaining experience in areas such as service development and leadership.

Interviews will be held Face to Face in the first Instance and a tour of the department / hospital will be offered on the day.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work to support the timely assessment, treatment and discharge of individual stroke patients within the stroke service. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high quality of service for patients during their hyperacute and inpatient phase of their recovery.

In brief you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working as a qualified band 6
  • Relevant stroke/ neurology experience.
  • Evidence of on-going learning and commitment to CPD.
  • Experience of MDT working, communication and complex discharge planning.
  • Willingness to participate in supervision of physiotherapy students.
