Job summary
We are looking for a qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated ACP to complement our established team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners in the Urgent Treatment Centre, co-located in the Emergency department at Colchester Hospital. This exciting opportunity facilitates working within the four pillars of advanced practice: - education, clinical practice, leadership and research.
The Urgent Treatment Centre is open 0700-Midnight, 7 days a week, including weekends and Bank Holidays and the successful candidate will be required to work shifts covering these hours.
The post involves working as part of and leading an enthusiastic dedicated team, across all areas of the Urgent Treatment Centre, to ensure patients presenting with undifferentiated and un-diagnosed illnesses and injuries are at the forefront of service provision and receive prompt timely intervention.
The successful candidate will also be assigned a team of experienced and developing Practitioners to lead and to support their development.
Clinical and leadership support and supervision will be provided by the Clinical lead Nurse and GP.

Main duties of the job
You will ideally be clinically experienced within the field of urgent unscheduled care. The post will require you to work as an autonomous practitioner to appropriately assess, examine, investigate and treat patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions at an advanced level.
You will collaborate with senior clinical leads, medical personnel and the wider MDT as appropriate to the patient's condition. The ACP is accountable for the total episode of care.
You will be part of the senior clinical team and will be required to cover the co-ordinator role and also navigation and Care at the Door directly at the Front Door.
You will contribute to service development. They will also provide appropriate leadership to their designated team. Ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence and support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
You will promote and facilitate evidence-based practice, clinical audit and research within the department.
The successful candidate will be motivated and engaged to provide a high standard of safe and quality care whilst providing a senior presence in the department. Candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be required to be interviewed and complete a presentation; details will be provided.
