Senior Transformation Lead

Job summary

The primary objective of the role is to lead large scale, complex transformation programmes and projects across the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) organisation and the wider health and social care system.

This will include designing and delivering programmes and projects in accordance with ESNEFT and wider system and alliance strategies in addition to providing direct support to the Deputy Head and Heads of Transformation as required.

The role will be predominately based at Colchester, however, with various components requiring work across both Colchester and Ipswich Acute Hospital locations as well as Community Hospital locations.

You will:

  • Lead delivery of specific transformation programmes and projects in projects in Elective Care and Epic Electronic Patient Record implementation, in accordance with ESNEFT organisational and wider system alliance strategies, ensuring outcomes are aligned and benefits are clearly articulated and delivered. These will include quality and financial benefits to support the organisation and wider system.
  • Support both the Head of Transformation and Deputy Head of Transformation for ESNEFT, to ensure that the Transformation programmes and projects are planned and managed effectively and ensure safe and seamless integration with other existing processes and services.
  • Embed the principles of transformation into clinical and service delivery.

Main duties of the job

  • Contracting with customers/ key stakeholders to agree appropriate project timeframes, key performance indicators (KPIs), parameters, deliverables and handover processes in advance of project starts.
  • Produce programme charters, project initiation documents (PIDs), project plans and highlight reports for the transformation programmes/projects for which the post holder is responsible; including the development of new ideas through to completion and sign-off.
  • Ensure delivery of plans in accordance with milestones and achievement of KPI's, completing accurate and timely reporting of all transformation outputs.
  • Setting up monitoring mechanisms to review performance against KPIs and project milestones, taking action as necessary to secure delivery.
  • Take the lead in building capabilities in relation to relevant improvement methodologies, approaches, tools and techniques, and facilitate frontline staff to test, implement and spread sustainable improvement across a system of care.
  • Lead process improvement projects to deliver change and efficiency.
  • Chair project groups and other forums / meetings as required.
  • Lead organisation and system-wide workshops and project groups.
  • Give regional and organisational level presentations on transformation progress, sharing best practices and alignment to national recommendations.
  • Design innovative, effective and lasting solutions to complex service problems.
