Job summary
We are inviting applicants to apply for a full time post as a Specialist Grade in Oral Surgery.The post holder will have clinical sessions at both sites, as this is a cross site working position.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to participate actively in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients. The main role for the right candidate would be to run oral surgery consultation clinics, minor operation sessions under local anaesthetic independently, as well as assist the department consultant and other clinician with a variety of specialised oral surgery procedures in the general anaesthetic theatre sessions. We have a dedicated oral surgery department nurse, as well as outpatient nurses who assist in the oral surgery clinics and minor operations.
Further opportunities will be available for the right candidate to progress into operating independently for theatre sessions.

There's a £5.3million molecular diagnostic laboratory soon to open at Ipswich, and works begins soon for a new Breast Care Centre and a Children's Unit.

- Completion of 12 years of Oral Surgery work since obtaining primary Dental Qualification
- Sufficient experience & ability to work on the on call rota
- Full registration with GDC and on the GDC Specialist List of Oral Surgery
- Clinically evaluates and manages a patient, formulating a prioritised differential diagnosis, initiating an appropriate management plan, and reviewing and adjusting this depending on the outcomes of treatment.
