Job summary

We are looking for a Support Secretary who is efficient, conscientious, well-motivated, enthusiastic and has relevant experience, with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and administrative teams within an ENT department.

The key aspect of the role involves dealing with the public and professionals, as well as typing for the department, hence you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have proven IT experience. We would welcome an informal visit to the unit.

Main duties of the job

The primary function of this role revolves around the provision of day to day secretarial support for the department, however, it is essential to help and support all members of the team by having a flexible approach to both workload, additional tasks and working patterns. Typing skills are essential.

The ENT department is very busy so you must be able to work under pressure. You will be responsible for working independently, providing a full range of secretarial and administrative support and, therefore, must be highly organised and show the ability to prioritise the workload.

We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options.

Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services.

Our philosophy is that Time Matters to everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which cause time delays for our staff and patients.

We are investing in our commitment to Time Matters with a partnership with leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic. This digital transformation will bring what's widely regarded as the world's best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.
