Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our team in NE Essex Community Paediatrics - in a fixed term role for 12 months (Ending 31st March 2025) which is an innovative role that combines clinical work with research in neurodevelopment.

We are inviting applications for a full time Clinical Fellow/Speciality doctor with an interest in Community Paediatrics and research at The Synapse Centre for Neurodevelopment and Colchester Hospital. It can be a hybrid post with PA time for both clinical and research roles.

The minimum requirement would be 4 years post graduate experience.

We are equally open for applicants to apply if they are either an Associate Specialist/Specialist Grade level or a Speciality Doctor or Registrar level who might not want to pursue a research interest.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake both neurodevelopmental and Neurobehavioural work with the aim of creating a balanced job plan including time for SPA.

Key elements of the post:

  • 10PA full-time contract
  • Mixed Neurobehavioural and neurodevelopmental caseload
  • Child development assessments
  • Participation in safeguarding clinic rota
  • Clinical / educational supervision of Paediatric SpRs (core / higher trainees)
