Job summary

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is seeking to recruit an apprentice into the Business Informatics team who will deliver impactful analytical products as part of an analytical service to the Trust's clinicians and operational staff.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a talented individual to develop their Business Informatics skills while helping to drive the way the Trust uses analytics to improve operational performance and patient care. You will be part of the Business Informatics Team who focus on providing analysis to help the Trust become an insight-driven organisation and to enable it to self-serve its data needs.

We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical skills interested on undertaking a L4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship Programme.

To be elgible for the programme you must:

  • Be 18 years of age
  • Have lived in the UK for the past three years and work for more than 50% of your time in England.
  • Currently be studying on a Government funded programme (Paid for via Student Loan, Apprenticeship, College course).
  • You will need to provide evidence of level 2 qualifications in Maths & English at GCSE grade 4-9/C or equivalent

Main duties of the job

The programme is designed for those in roles that require them to prepare and analyse large amounts of data and build predictive tools. Becoming critical champions, specialists and advocates for defining what 'data-driven' means for your organisation.

What will you learn?

  • Advanced Excel techniques and formulas e.g. V looks ups, X lookups, and how to connect data sets together
  • How to code in SQL, how to use Power BI, how to build Python models
  • Advanced analytics; linear regression, logistic regression, time series forecasting
  • How to see the bigger picture to find a story in your data and effectively visualise it

The apprenticeship programme is about embedding what you learn back into your role.

The programme is delivered online and through a blended learning model which includes online learning, 121 coaching, workshops and masterclasses hosted by experts and professors at Imperial College Business School.
