Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, close-knit team at Ipswich Hospital, we are looking for a specialty doctor dermatologist to be an integral part of the team.
The Dermatology Department spans across both hospital sites, in Ipswich we have a dedicated area of the hospital, with 8 clinic rooms, 2 minor operating theatres and consultant office space. There is an additional separate area for patch testing, phototherapy and PDT. The unit has its own dedicated administrative, medical and nursing staff. Following the allocation of £69m Capital Funds to ESNEFT, there are plans to relocate the unit to a more central and modern area of the hospital site as part of the Trust's Estates Strategy.
Main duties of the job
All specialty doctors in the department have a continuing and individual responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and a general responsibility to provide, in conjunction with their colleagues, an effective Dermatology Service to meet the needs of the local population, within the resources available.
The job plan will be based on a 10 PA contract.

At Ipswich we are investing £35million in a new Emergency Department and co-located Urgent Treatment Centre, with additional diagnostic imaging kit (MRI and CT). There's a £5.3million molecular diagnostic laboratory soon to open at Ipswich, and works begins soon for a new Breast Care Centre and a Children's Unit.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Previous experience working in Dermatology
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Competent in carrying out invasive and interventional procedures
- Three years previous experience at ST1+ with at least one year in Dermatology in recognised posts for training Previous experience of audit
- Capacity to manage time and prioritise workload, balance urgent & important demands, follow instructions
- A confident person who has the ability to manage, motivate and teach the junior medical staff

- DLO or DOHNS equivalent
- Previous NHS experience
