Job summary
Medical Secretary - Plastic Surgery / Dermatology - 37.5 hours fixed term contract / secondment until 31st March 2025.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of the busy Plastic Surgery / Dermatology department based at Ipswich Hospital. You will be working closely with the Medical Teams, Nursing Team, Outpatients Department, and other hospitals.
This is a key role within the Department. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team player to integrate with the current team and providean efficient and effective secretarial service and to cover theatre bookings.
You will support the provision of an efficient and comprehensive secretarial support service to the Consultants and medical staff and facilitate with booking minor surgeries for the plastic surgery / dermatology department.
Main duties of the job
To maintain a high standard of secretarial service to meet the needs of the clinical team within the Plastic Surgery / Dermatology Department, ensuring that accurate and up to date typing of clinic letters and correspondence is achieved through digital dictation / audio.
It will also be expected that Plastic Surgery patients who are awaiting their surgical procedures are booked within their breach dates, in particular making sure those who are on a 2WW pathway are booked within their strict time limits and escalating if there are any issues with this.
You will be required to deal with queries from patients, GPs and other medical teams regarding patient care.
