Senior Community Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist - Ips West

Job summary

The Ipswich West Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) has an exciting opportunity available to work as a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist in the community. This position will be working alongside our established team of therapists and being offered on a permanent bases at 37.5hours per week. Part-time hours would also be considered.

The team is based at Constantine House in the centre of Ipswich town. You will be required to work across the Ipswich West INT, and the wider community services to meet service requirements. The team consists of district & community nurses, assistant practitioners, generic workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social care workers. The team is led by a Lead Therapist and overall managed by an INT manager.

The team is busy, dynamic, and proud of their holistic care approach. The team continues to change to support developments in NHS which includes close working relationships with the local statutory, non-statutory and voluntary services. You will be actively supported by regular supervision and individual annual appraisal. You will be expected to work autonomously and on behalf of the patients served by the local area. You will have access to skills development training relevant to the post. The role involves providing therapy interventions to the residents across the South Rural INT and wider Area. You will be required to work shifts covering the operational hours of 08:00 to 18:00 over 7 days.

Main duties of the job

The role will include a comprehensive induction into the community service followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role. We pride ourselves on the holistic care approach we provide from initial assessment to identify the needs of patients in their own homes.

Your duties will be to provide holistic therapeutic assessments of patient goals to implement management plans and strategies. This role will also include working with the wider Integrated and multidisciplinary team, including MDT meetings. We offer a variety of training to up skill and maintain your clinical skills. Although we are expecting our staff to work autonomously, we are a very supportive team and work closely together to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

Due to this post being a community position it is essential for the successful candidate to be able to drive.
