Job summary
East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to join the Finance Department.
Working within the financial management team you will assist in the provision of management accounting information and financial advice to a number of service areas within the Trust.
You should be AAT qualified or studying for a recognised accountancy qualification, with previous management accountant experience preferably within NHS.
A sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and computerised financial systems will be necessary. In addition, the ability to work to strict deadlines and provide clear and concise financial information and advice to non-financial managers is essential.
Band 4 opportunity may be considered depending on previous experience
This role is currently based at home, but in the future you will be expected to attend the main site, which is Colchester on a regular basis and travel to Ipswich may also be required.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the management and performance of a assistant management accountant within management accounts section.
- The Management Accountant has responsibility for day to day management of the Divisional budget portfolio within the management accounts section. Responsible for all budget preparation, adherence to budgetary control systems and production of cost and performance management statements and reports relating to the budget portfolio.
- Support the Deputy Finance Manager regarding the on-going development and maintenance of budgetary financial systems and procedures
- Support the Finance Manager to ensure financial management statutory returns and information are completed correctly and to deadlines.
- Provide financial advice to managers, including business cases and ad-hoc costings as required.
- Provide adhoc training and education to finance and non-finance staff as required.
