Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your leadership skills?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and well-motivated registered nurse with a strong commitment to nursing patients within Care of the Elderly on D'arcy Ward at Colchester Hospital

You will be a key member of the ward nursing team ensuring high quality care is delivered and you will be work as part of a multi-professional team.

You will be required to work across the Trust to help facilitate patient flow and achieve the standards set within the National Clinical guidelines.

Full-time may be considered if willing to work 14.5 hours per week as a Band 5 registered nurse in addition to this role.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for, with the guidance of the Ward Sister, for providing leadership and teaching within the Unit environment.

Through knowledge, good example and education, you will enable your colleagues to deliver high quality, individualised care.

You will provide support and supervision to nursing staff, and effectively coordinate and deploy resources within the Unit as required.

You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and use your skills tomake safe and speedy clinical judgments in an emergency situation

You must have the desire to develop your clinical skills and knowledge in relation to care of the elderly

You must be patient focused, flexible, adaptable and capable of thinking laterally.
