Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and flexible individual to be part of a professional team maintaining and repairing medical devices within East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (based at Colchester Hospital) and the local community.

The successful candidate will possess a technician level background with medical device technology and be able to demonstrate equivalent training and experience. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, have good interpersonal skills and a developed ability to communicate well.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to perform preventative maintenance, repair electronic and mechanical devices, perform installations and calibrate equipment. In addition, you will keep computerised service logs and report service issues to supervisors to ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with compliance standards.

You will be required to work in the many areas of the Electro-Medical Engineering Department providing a top-quality service to the wards and departments.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of workshop practice and associated admin computer systems.
  • Knowledge of device support including electronic, electro-mechanical, computing and medical devices.

Desirable

  • Attended service/maintenance courses held by medical companies.

Qualifications

  • C&G/ONC/HNC in Electronic\Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
