Job summary

ESNEFT Library services are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Deputy Librarian to join our small friendly team

You will provide a proactive and equitable library service to all staff, students and stakeholders eligible to use the servie. To work with the Library Services Lead on developing an integrated library service for the Trust which supports the information needs of all staff, and operates in an efficient and effective manner and minimises duplication across sites

Supporting the strategic development of library services, through service reviews and development of new services and to lead on projects.

You will be based at either Ipswich or Colchester Hospital (with some remote working) there will be a requirement to work across sites as required

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the operational management of library services, including supervising library staff.
  • To contribute to the delivery of the Library & Knowledge Services Strategy and the Annual Implementation Plan.
  • To deputise for the Library Services Lead when necessary. This may involve representing the service at senior level at internal / external forums.
  • To work closely with the Digital Learning Team and the other teams within the Faculty of Education.
  • Provide a personalised Library and Evidence Service by establishing relationships with clinical and management teams to identify and anticipate their knowledge and information requirements. Where possible, develop an embedded service by participating in appropriate directorate teams and ward meetings to develop expert subject knowledge to provide evidence based information support at point of need.
