Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen here in the Audiology Team at Ipswich Hospital for someone to join our Service as a part time Administrative Assistant.

The successful candidate will be a self-driven individual with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. They will work alongside the Audiologists and Hearing Therapists to provide the best care possible.

The new role is to work Thursdays and Fridays weekly.

Main duties of the job

  • Agreeing and making outpatient follow up appointments- by contacting patients, either by telephone, letter or personally following GP or staff referral and generate letter on Lorenzo
  • Rearrange clinics and inform patients of changes of appointments.
  • Manage patient administration and booking of all outreach clinics.
  • Deal with telephone and face-to-face complaints effectively and refer to appropriate individual if necessary.
  • Deal with hearing aid repair and battery requests face to face
  • Make accurate data entries into Patient Management Systems including registering of patients
  • To manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Photocopying and scanning of the department
  • Managing the department email accounts.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times
