Job summary

East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust have an exciting opening to join an established multidisciplinary diabetes foot service.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Advanced Diabetes Podiatrist to join an established multidisciplinary foot service at Ipswich Hospital.

The successful applicant will work within the hospital in a variety of settings including wards and our dedicated outpatient clinic..

This role will suit a dynamic and organised podiatrist with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills. The applicant will need a working knowledge of the acute management of diabetes foot complications with previous experience within the specialist area of high risk diabetes foot care.

Although this post is at 37.5 hours, a job share will be considered.

Main duties of the job

We work closely with the Diabetes and Vascular teams and there will be opportunities to work alongside the Consultants in clinic and on the wards. This will provide an enhanced clinical experience to further develop your knowledge, skills and career in diabetes foot care.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate confident leadership skills/ interest in development of leadership skills, as well as advanced clinical reasoning and effective management of complex patients. This post will be a combination of clinical and managerial duties to further develop the unique multidisciplinary foot service.

  • BSc Degree or Diploma in Podiatric Medicine
  • Health and Care Professional Council Registered
  • Evidence or Portfolio of post graduate CPD

Desirable

  • Registered non-medical prescriber
  • IRMER trained

Experience

  • Significant post graduate clinical experience
  • Experience of multidisciplinary, team leadership and interagency working
  • Experience of working with a wide range of patients and disease / pathology types including the high-risk foot and non-salvageable limb.
  • Experience of acute and chronic wound care management
