Clinical Case Reviewer (NSQIP)

Job summary

The Clinical Case Reviewer's chief responsibility is to collect & submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. The SCR works closely with the members of the Surgical Department & Surgical Champion to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement & other special projects as identified. You will have good organisational & time management skills to meet the specific time frames for inputting onto the database.

Main duties of the job

To identify surgical patients for inclusion in the Programme following NSQIP inclusion / exclusion criteria & protocols.

To collect preoperative, operative & postoperative data through effective utilization of the hospital's medical record systems.

Responsible for accurate & timely entry of data into the program's database & meeting caseload targets.

Demonstrates appropriate ultilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the programme.

Contact patients and / or families via telephone postoperatively for the purpose of identifying possible occurrence's associated with the surgical procedure.
